Matt is a guiding force and a natural mentor who gives his team opportunities to flourish. He provides exceptional leadership and creative vision to all his projects. As enthusiastic as he is creative, Matt’s passion for innovative design solutions leads to unique, memorable projects specifically suited to his clients’ needs. A native of Northern Idaho, he holds a pilot license and earned his Architectural Design degree from North Idaho College. He spends his weekends outdoors, hiking with his family, hanging out on their boat and dirt biking. During the winter, he takes to the mountains to play and is a chaperone at Schweitzer Mountain Resort for the local youth ski club.
Rosie co-founded Selkirk Design Company in 2017 with her husband Matt. She put her business and graphic design background to work contributing to the current success of the company. Her energy and enthusiasm helps create a positive working environment for the team. Rosie’s experience is firmly rooted in leadership development, working as a head youth leadership director for several non-profit organizations. She has a passion for supporting students and volunteers see their leadership skills actualized. In her free time, you can find her boating, camping, cooking and skiing with her family. She has a love for paddle boarding and is always looking for new trails to hike.
Originally from Brazil, Italo graduated from Faculdades Nordeste S.A. (Fanor) with a degree in Architecture. As a licensed Architect in Brazil, he ran his own small firm pursuing residential architecture and interior design. Italo brings more than 14 years of experience in residential design and architecture to his role at Selkirk Design Company. He holds a truly global view of architecture and its potential as a positive influence on every life. As a mentor to staff, he demonstrates how architecture creates community and design becomes an influential ambassador. An avid soccer fan, he loves the sport because “the running never stops.” He also enjoys perfecting his swing on the local golf courses of Northern Idaho, relaxing and clearing his mind.
Whether it is looking at the smallest detail or the big picture, James brings a can-do spirit and attitude that works toward getting the most out of every endeavor. Originally from Asotin, Washington, he earned his Bachelor’s in Architecture from Washington State University. James served two combat tours in Iraq where he leveraged the architecture expertise he gained at WSU. His easy-going manner, attention to detail and strategic thinking have gained the confidence of those who work with him. In his free time, he can usually be found golfing with a club, or with a frisbee. He also enjoys fishing, working on projects around his house and relaxing with his cat, “Kitty Kitty.”
Krys’ management abilities, coupled with her film production background, brings a unique perspective to the Selkirk Design team. She earned her bachelor’s from Cal State University Northridge with an emphasis on film production. Her versatility and open personality, allows for smooth communication across all levels. She has a passion for quality and enjoys her position collaborating with the talented team of creatives. Knowing how important a home is for long-term happiness, Krys joined Selkirk Design to be a part a team that creates dream homes. She moved to Sandpoint to enjoy family, outdoors and the local happenings the city has to offer. In her free time, you can find her gardening and chasing sunspots around her home.
Natalie’s sense of creativity and innovation led her to pursue a career in marketing, earning a bachelor’s degree from the University of Idaho. She brings knowledge for optimizing space, improving efficiency, and creating warm, inviting atmospheres from her roles within the coffee industry; and her time spent in the fashion industry lends to a keen eye for textures and materials. She enjoys the process of designing spaces that are not only visually appealing, but also evoke emotion, provide function, and showcase each clients’ personal style.
A Sandpoint native with a love for travel involving live music, food, and exploring new cities, Natalie has attended over 75 concerts and spent extended visits in places like Alaska, Vietnam, and Peru. At home, she looks forward to warm summer days on the water and foraging in the mountains alongside her family, friends, and dogs.
JP grew up in and loves the town of Sandpoint. His unwavering curiosity for design and functionality blend together to reveal a complex love of creating architectural harmony. His A+, CAD, and Solid Works certifications allow him to combine his love for technology, architecture, and design to turn clients’ vision into reality. When he is not working, JP enjoys riding his Meepo longboard or anything with wheels. Soccer, snowboarding, and physics are some of his other favorite pastimes. He is currently attending the University of Idaho architecture department and is excited to graduate with his degree and get his license.
Jacob is a natural architect in the making with a strong design intuition and an impressive ability to make them a reality. He grew up in Southern California, where he became interested in architecture from a young age. Jacob says it all started with Legos. A broad range of interests and abilities including working in construction, steered Jacob toward the field of architecture, where the combination of technology and creativity suited him perfectly. He earned his CAD Certificate from Bakersfield College outside Los Angeles. On his weekends, you can find him venturing outdoors in search of the next epic fishing hole and enjoying Sunday dinners with his family. He is currently attending the University of Idaho architecture department and is excited to graduate with his degree.
